Sugar beet with POLY4: Balanced nutrition for strong performance

Results of a trial programme in Poland (2022)

Sugar beet needs comprehensive supply of nutrients to thrive. Balanced nutrition is key to strong growth, high sugar content, and stress resilience.

Potassium

helps with water balance and sugar transport.

Magnesium

powers photosynthesis and boosts sugar production.

Sulfur

steps in to make nitrogen work harder, driving stronger growth.

Calcium

builds tougher cell walls and helps your crop handle stress while keeping sugars flowing into the root

And what about Chloride (Cl)?

Sugar beet can handle some salinity once it's established, but it's sensitive to high chloride levels during germination and early seedling growth. For sugar beet, low to moderate Cl levels are best. While excess Cl is harmful, a small amount is essential. The key is balance—too much Cl, especially from KCl fertilisers, can tip the scale and hurt performance.

In 2022, we ran 10 sugar beet trials across Poland to see what POLY4 could really do when included into a standard fertilisation based on muriate of potash (MOP).

The results speak for themselves:

Yield jumped 7%
from 59 to 63 tonnes per hectare - when POLY4 was added to the standard MOP programme.

Sugar content held strong, even improved slightly: 18.1% with POLY4 vs. 17.9% with MOP alone.

9 out of 10 trials came out on top with POLY4.

And yes, all treatments got the same amounts of N, P, and K.
The difference? POLY4’s balanced nutrition and efficient use of nutrients.

Results are medians of 10 field trials conducted in different regions of Poland in 2022 comparing fertilisation programmes with POLY4 to standard fertilisation programmes with MOP. All treatments in the same trial received equal amounts of N, P and K. Win rate – ratio of number of trials with yield improvement following POLY4 application to total number of trials.
