Optimising nitrogen use in cereals

In a 2023 field trial in the Netherlands, we complemented base application of POLY4 with calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) and put this POLY4-based programme to the test against a standard nitrogen and sulphur fertiliser in winter barley.

Both treatments received the same amount of nitrogen—but POLY4 helped the crop take up more of it. That boost in efficiency delivered a solid 10% yield increase. No extra nitrogen. Just smarter use of it with POLY4.
