Keeping crops strong with POLY4
It reinforces cell walls by binding with pectin in the spaces between cells - tightening the structure and sealing off weak points. That’s your first line of biological armour: tougher tissue, harder to invade.
But calcium doesn’t stop at structure. It’s a key messenger in plant immunity. When a pathogen attacks, calcium signals the alarm - triggering defence genes and activating enzymes.
The result? Fewer disorders like blossom end rot, bitter pit, or tip burn. Stronger resistance to fungal and bacterial infections. And ultimately a crop that is healthy.
Plants can only absorb Ca in soluble form. POLY4 stands out with its solubility in water of 11.9–17.3 g/L at 25°C, which makes it one of the few mineral sources that delivers Ca in a form that crops can actually use. Compared to gypsum, lime, or dolomite, POLY4 ensures Ca is not just present, but available when and where it’s needed.
Moreover, once Ca reaches plant tissue, it becomes immobile, so a steady supply is essential. POLY4 releases Ca gradually, supplying plants with what they need to build strong cell walls and membranes throughout their growth.
